Recommended Management Book Review

from Super Successful Manager!™

This is a seminal work on the art of self-management and hence self-development. If that sounds a bit controlling, it isn't!

Covey's book is life-changing speaking from personal experience here, after being given the book in 1998, I gradually adjusted my career for the better.

Based around the ‘7 Habits’, Covey explores through anecdote and illustration, simple models that anyone can apply anywhere in their lives. Be it time management, communication, prioritization, care for others, clear goals and the leverage of synergy and much more, they are all covered thoroughly here.

Many of the ideas are not new, some even coming from Greek philosophies. There is nothing wrong with this at all, because the book packages them up in very user-friendly illuminating- and bringing-to-life-ways of thinking, that might otherwise be unattractive and as a consequence avoided by the reader.

It's not a quick read, nor is it perfect, with some quirky ideas that might not appeal to everyone. It is a book that is a valuable read, at your own pace. You will find the ideas that come from this and the actions you start to take, will make a significant difference to your life in a good way.

There are many ideas you will want to revisit from time to time, as you explore the possibilities their inclusion in your life and work might offer and if you need more help, there’s a whole ‘7 Habits’ self-management system at Franklin Covey as well!

Feel free to forward this “Recommended Management Book Review” to anyone who might find value in it, as long as it remains fully intact and unchanged in any way
